"Use the right tool for the right job"

With this pragmatic philosophy in mind Infinite Alchemics currently uses multiple different metallurgy techniques to create his magic items. Wire wrapping is used to frame and build, electroforming is used to hold and harden, and 3d print and design is used to create forms and additions. the least understood of these three processes is Electroforming.

- Electroforming -

Electroforming refers to the electro chemical process of growing copper over non conductive surfaces. This process utilizes a conductive chemical bath filled with free floating copper. Electricity is then used to carry copper out of the solution and deposits it onto wherever guide media has been set. Over a multiday span a layer of copper will grow to the designers desired thickness.

Because this process does not use heat, more delicate and natural compounds can be used . This allows things such as flowers, and insects to be sealed away forever preserved in copper. It forms a perfect shell that hugs every contour. this allows a natural boarder to form on stones, and creates a finished piece of work with a high amount of detail.

While the results can be beautiful the process is still hazardous. Working along side chemicals like Sulfuric acid pose certain risks that must be accounted for. standard lab safety steps are taken on a regular basis here in the studio.
